  • The nature and duration of clinical activities performed during 180 on-call duty periods by 51 pediatric residents. Three time periods are reported: May to August 2005; May to June 2009; and July to September 2009. Overall comparison and comparison between subgroups were made by using the Kruskal-Wallis test. P values for comparisons between all 3 time periods are reported as overall comparison, and the P values from comparisons between early and late 2009 eras are reported in the extreme right-hand column. The mean durations of activities were as follows: direct patient care, 239 min; documentation, 235 min; staff supervision, 73 min; and receiving education, 52 min. NA indicates not applicable.
