  • * Adjusted for cesarean section versus vaginal delivery, rupture of membranes of >6 days, any illness or pregnancy complication, and ISS (quartiles). There were significant independent contributions from pregnancy complications (OR: 2.2; 95% CI: 1.1–4.3) and 4th quartile for neonatal ISS (OR: 9.9; 95% CI: 5.1–19.0). Use of prenatal steroids was omitted because it did not influence the result and because information was missing for 26 infants.
