Required neonatal procedures for all neonatal providers
 Neonatal resuscitation, according to the American Heart Association and AAP Neonatal Resuscitation Program
 Management of airway: positive-pressure ventilation with bag or mask, nasal continuous positive airway pressure, and endotracheal intubation
 Umbilical line insertion
 Needle-chest thoracentesis
Other procedures that may be recommended depending on the practice site (NICU-designated level) and patient population
 Chest tube placement
 Arterial blood gas sampling
 Peripheral arterial line insertion
 Lumbar puncture
 Peripherally inserted central catheters
 Suprapubic bladder taps
 Exchange transfusion
 Ventricular reservoir taps
 Intraosseous cannulation and infusion
 Abdominal paracentesis
 Pericardiocentesis or pericardial tap
