  • a Children who were aged 3 to 23 mo at the start of the study period, July 1, 2010, and were continuously enrolled in their insurance plan from birth through the end of the study period, June 30, 2011. Vaccination status was determined by the presence or absence of a current procedural terminology code for receipt of at least 1 dose of RV5 or RV1 (eg, children who received at least 1 vaccine dose were considered vaccinated). Rates were adjusted for quarter of birth. Children who were either from states with universal vaccination programs or who had received mixed vaccine schedules with both RV1 and RV5 doses were excluded.
