CASE REPORT A 12-year-old girl with SLE in remission (maintenance therapy, 60 mg of prednisone on alternate days) was admitted to the University of California Los Angeles Hospital with a one-week history of fever, dysuria, facial rash, and joint pain. A urinary tract infection was detected and the patient was placed on a regimen of antibiotics.
