Seventy per cent of those with normal E.E.G.'s have developed normally. Sixty-four per cent of those with an abnormal E.E.G. subsequently either died or had significant neurological sequelae. In a number of cases it was not possible to place the E.E.G. in the normal or abnormal category and the reasons for this are discussed.
