Since this protein can be measured by an immunodiffusion methol, its immunoassay can be used as a substitute for the hemolytic titration of complement in the diagnosis of patients with acute glomerulonephritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and the nephrotic syndrome. A rapid immunoassay of the serum beta1C globulin can be easily performed.
