Abstract
I've read a number of articles on oral rehydration, including Cohen et al in the May 1995 issue of Pediatrics. The question "Why don't general pediatricians accept the use of oral rehydration?" comes up repeatedly.
There's a simple answer. We do. The problem is kids don't. They don't like the taste of the oral rehydration solutions and I don't blame them. I've tried it, in sickness and in health. The stuff tastes like lightly sugared sea water.
