Abstract
We read with some interest the article by Musgrave et al (Pediatrics 1986;77:765-769) presenting information on 72 children with acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) who have survived disease-free 5 years or longer in their second or subsequent remission. The purpose of this letter is to share our experience at St Jude Children's Research Hospital, an institution that has been engaged in the research and treatment of childhood ALL since 1962. We now have more than 600 children with ALL who are off therapy in remission of their disease.
