Abstract

Contrary to Wallerstein's opinion, the fact that we admitted to certain limitations in our study design does not "invalidate the study." Whether or not the mothers received additional information from other sources, pro or con, is irrelevant because the process of randomization makes it highly likely that similar information was received by both groups. Our written material expressed, quite clearly, the opinion of the American Academy of Pediatrics—that circumcision is not a medically justified procedure.
