Abstract
Concerning hypertrichosis pinnae in babies of diabetic mothers, Rafaat1 is by no means the first to observe this phenomenon. We have long used this sign in assessing infants of diabetic mothers.2 It was first described by Akerren3 and later emphasized by Eklund et al.4
