Abstract
I recently saw at his regular checkup a 19-month-old male child with a history of marked polydipsia and polyuria. The mother stated that for the past month she had been using at least 20 diapers a day and he was awakening 15 to 20 times a night for a drink. The mother said she had begun keeping a pitcher of water at her bedside to meet the child's needs.
The child's growth and development were normal.
