Abstract
A single false-negative Bactogen test was documented subsequent to the completion of this study. A 4-year-old white boy was hospitalized with lip cellulitis and fever. Antigenemia was undetectable by Bactogen or LPA. Urine was not assayed for antigen. H influenzae type b was isolated from blood following five days of incubation.
