Abstract
The report by J. D. Lloyd-Still (Pediatrics 59:626, April 1977) on two infants with intrahepatic cholestasis who developed symptoms of intestinal obstruction after having been fed cholestyramine is of significant interest. It serves as a reminder that, generally speaking, a physician should have an idea about potential side effects of drugs given to patients. However, prior to casting the "evil eye" on a potentially helpful drug, one should perhaps examine the reasons why this resin may have been the cause of problems.
