Abstract
Based on a very limited study, we have been able to demonstrate significant changes in theophylline levels in patients receiving three different types of erythromycin preparations. Elevated theophylline levels were associated with administering erythromycin ethylsuccinate, erythromycin stearate, and erythromycin estolate.
We were not able to detect any pattern of alterations in theophylline levels associated with either temperature elevations or other medications being administered concomitantly.
