Abstract
The following statistics were obtained from women who appeared at the University College Hospital (in 1870) to be attended in their confinement.
In 2,696 cases menstruation occurred for the first time-
From these cases it would appear most common at 14 years of age, then 15, 16, 13, 17, 12, 18, 19, 20, 10.
The mean age in these cases is 14.96 years nearly.
