Abstract
MANAGEMENT OF CEREBRAL PALSY: Fourth annual course on the management of cerebral palsy, sponsored by the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, September 9-14. A practically oriented course for physicians and other professionals with a serious interest in the habilitation of patients with cerebral palsy. Topics include normal and disturbed motor development, identification of the reflex motor activity seen in cerebral palsy, evaluation of intellectual function and communicative problems, prescription of therapy and indications for evaluation of surgical procedures, with particular attention to consideration of the therapeutic situation as a learning experience, and the application of the principles of learning to the training of motor activity as well as behavior.
