Abstract

This collection of six essays on developmental nutrition will probably be of considerable interest to nutritionists, but it is my impression that pediatricians will derive less benefit from them. In his preface Dr. Winick claims that the book "synthesizes existing knowledge" in the field. My impression is that it reports and brings together a good deal, but synthesizes little. Indeed my main criticism is the absence of any discernible theme emerging from a great deal of experimentally derived fact.
