Abstract
With this volume, the sacrosanct Association of German Pathologists has just published the proceedings of its 55th Annual Meeting, held in 1971, which was almost entirely devoted to neonatal and pediatric pathology. Moreover, a large number of the presentations were delivered by persons representing other disciplines such as neonatology, pediatrics, radiology, and anesthesiology. Perhaps a pediatric pathology subspeciality, is in the offing in Germany? The proceedings are published with subtitles and summaries in English and deal with respiratory distress (88 pages), viral pneumonia (17 pages), pediatric endocrinopathies (65 pages), immunology (40 pages), leukemias and tumors (102 pages) , consumption coagubopathy (41 pages), inherited metabolic diseases (88 pages ), submitted papers and a round table on sudden deaths (28 pages), and a useful index (in German).
