Abstract
The hypothesis by Dr. Smithwick et al. that altered cell-mediated immunity secondary to a vaccinia infection or hepatitis may have been a factor in the development of this child's disease is interesting. However, it should be noted that the reactions to atypical mycobacterial skin antigens were not suppressed during the period of active disease.
