Abstract
This book is probably the most comprehensive, up to date review of that complex syndrome we call early infantile autism. Beginning with a detailed description of the behavior of the autistic child, the author then deals at length with the assessment of such a child, from physical, emotional, mental, language, and behavioral standpoints. He then turns to the difficult area of differential diagnosis, including such syndromes as mental retardation and aphasia.
