Abstract
The Paper by Pross, Bradford, and Krueger, "Reye's Syndrome Treated by Peritoneal Dialysis," (Pediatrics 45:845, 1970) is of extreme interest, and the successful therapy which they employed is most praiseworthy. It appears, however, that fatty hepatomegaly, which is a cardinal finding in Reye's syndrome, was not demonstrated. It seems unlikely that, if present, this could have been reversed by dialysis for 24 hours and followed by steady improvement. Fatty infiltration of the liver and a confirmed diagnosis is usually revealed only at autopsy and not by clinical findings.
