    Laughing gas is a well know analgesic gas. It`s used since over 100 years. There are hundreds of studies that confirm the analgesic effect of laughing gas in combination with oxygen. I`m very suprised that a ethical committee accepted this study. As pediatrician I don`t comprehend how somebody could make such a study in our times. The question is not if laughing gas is a good analgesic drug but for what procedures it is...

I`m very suprised that a ethical committee accepted this study. As pediatrician I don`t comprehend how somebody could make such a study in our times. The question is not if laughing gas is a good analgesic drug but for what procedures it is better than others. A comparison against placebo is for me ethically not acceptable.
