Session Chairs: Sir David Hall, FRCP, PRCPCH, and Thomas Tonniges, MD, FAAP
The final session of the meeting was used to generate the framework for a draft conference report and agenda for the future. The priority issues defined during each of the sessions were collated, and strategies for jointly addressing them in the United States and the United Kingdom were established. Decisions as to how to proceed, including how to organize and integrate this initiative into our respective organizations, how to ensure that it is relevant to community pediatricians, and how to sustain it, were discussed.
The reports from each of the small-group session leaders and session co-chairs were presented. A list of suggested initiatives was generated, and the nominal group process was used to prioritize them. These priorities subsequently have become the framework for future endeavors to be pursued by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and the American Academy of Pediatrics as the Equity Project.
