Pediatrics eFirst Pages

Pediatrics eFirst Pages contains papers published online in advance of appearing in standard issue of the journal. This allows the journal to release papers several weeks earlier than they would otherwise be published. At the end of the month, all papers appearing in eFirst pages will be removed from this feature. The papers will be regrouped and will constitute that month's issue.

Articles appearing in Early Release have been peer-reviewed, edited, typeset, and approved by the author. They only differ from the final version in that they may not contain page numbers.

Citing Articles in Pediatrics eFirst Pages Using the Digital Object Identifier (DOI): All papers that appear online in eFirst Pages are considered published. The date a paper appears online is the definitive publication date. Under the title of each online article, you will see a string like this: doi:10.1542/peds.2009-0123. This string is the Digital Objective Identifier (DOI); this identification string follows the life of an article. Articles can be cited using the DOI. For more information on using DOIs to cite articles, please visit www.doi.org.

To cite an article using the DOI, please follow this example:

Author(s), "Article Title", Pediatrics, published online: date (doi:10.1542/peds.YEAR-4 digits).

Early Release articles are embargoed for media use until the day they are electronically posted. Please direct any questions about media embargoes to AAP Communications at 847-434-7877.
