In the American Academy of Pediatrics' statement, "Guidelines for Urgent Care in School" by the Committee on School Health (Pediatrics 1984;74:148-149), there are errors under suggestions 2 and 6. The suggestions should read as follows:
2. An emergency care manual and standing orders for first aid should be written and made available to nurses, athletic staff, and faculty volunteers. A sample manual1 is available from the Connecticut Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics, 540 Nortontown Rd, Guilford, CT 06437 ($8.50).
6. An emergency medical kit and anaphylaxis kit (eg, Anakit, Epipen, etc) should be kept with the medications in each school, and the kits should be made available to trained staff volunteers.
