Dr. Jay Isaac Durand served as the sixteenth President of the American Academy of Pediatrics during the years 1945-46.
He had served the Academy in many ways, as he was a charter member, a District Chairman from 1932 to 1934, and at one time or another a member of several of the Academy's committees.
Dr. Durand received his M.D. degree from the University of Minnesota in 1905 and moved to Seattle at an early date, where he organized the first pediatric outpatient clinic in that city.
