THE FOLLOWING is an excerpt from the Abstracts of the Executive Board Meeting of October 2 to 5, 1957, presented at the Business Meeting of the Academy during the Annual Meeting on October 9, 1957. It is published here at the request of the Executive Board.
The following statement was adopted by the Board to be given to the members at the Annual Meeting by the President, transmitted to advertisers in Pediatrics by the Business Manager of Pediatrics and appear in the official publication of the Academy, Pediatrics:
The American Academy of Pediatrics recognized the Physicians' Council for Information on Child Health as an independent organization engaged in a program seeking to improve the health of children. The American Academy of Pediatrics has no connection with the Physicians' Council for Information on Child Health. The two organizations are not related in any way. The American Academy of Pediatrics has no control over the Physicians' Council, its directors, executive committee, officers or members. The Academy has no special knowledge of the program, policy or actions of the Physicians' Council, other than is disclosed by the publications of the Physicians' Council. The policy of the American Academy of Pediatrics is to co-operate with any organization interested in the improvement of child health and welfare.
