Thank you for this excellent study and paper. It adds evidence for the effectiveness of school-based supervised medication administration.

Given the limited nursing time in schools it may be most appropriate for school nurses to target this intervention for students with poorly controlled asthma. Ideally, school-based administration could be done for a limited time period during which the student and family could learn the benefits of good asthma control. School nurses could monitor control after returning the responsibility for daily supervision to the family. Targeting this intervention could make it even more effective.
