Dear Sir The article defines more than or equal to 36 weeks as term gestation. NIH consensus statement states that more than 36 and 6 /7 weeks of completed gestation is late preterm gestation.

(Late-Preterm" Infants: A Population at Risk William A. Engle, MD, Kay M. Tomashek, MD, Carol Wallman, MSN and the Committee on Fetus and Newborn) PEDIATRICS Vol. 120 No. 6 December 2007, pp. 1390-1401 (doi:10.1542/peds.2007-2952)

Is the author's definition arbitrary ?

Sincerely Akshaya Vachharajani
