I was surprised about the recommandation against prophylaxis after penetrating nail injury through tennis shoe.It is a common injury, more than 90% of penetrating wounds injury in foot resulting in to abcess or osteomylitis are pseudomas infection, diagnosis of psueudomal foot infections including osteomyletis is difficult and psuedomas osteomylitis requires agressive surgical treatment.Simple thing to do would be treat with oral medication and prevent chain of consequenses.
