Interesting results showing the systemic effects in children using inhaled corticosteroids but I want to know if you have matching or comparison data with children on systemic corticosteroids in asthmatic exacerbation

Re: Fluticasone vs. budesonide

It is an interesting and helpful article indeed. I wonder why the authors compared 400 ug. fluticasone vs 400 ug budesonide when the antiinflammatory power of fluticasone is double than budesonide? Do you have any data about the systemic effect of 200 ug day of fluticasone in asthmatic infants o toddler? Best regards

In response to Dr Garay and Dr Cutrera’s questions, there are no knemometry studies in preschool children on the the systemic activity of systemic steroids in asthma exacerbations. The two steroids were compared in similar nominal dose, as a compromise between a more potent steroid (FP) versus a more efficient device (metalspacer). There are no knemometry data on FP200 in young children. Best wishes Hans Bisgaard
