Re: Study blinding

hdellagr{at}ath.forthnet.gr HD Dellagrammaticas

Editor,

We read with interest the study by Miura et al (1). However we were puzzled by a phrase in the 'Treatment protocol' in which 'Partcipants, investigators, and haelth care providers were blinded to the study assignment'.

As the administration of rG-CSF would result in relatively acute rise of neutrophils and other indices, it is difficult for us to comprehend how blinding was achieved, perticularly in the case of health care providers.

We think that some clarification on this matter is warranted.
