ERRATUM
An error appeared in the article by Kothadia et al, titled "Randomized Placebo-controlled Trial of a 42-Day Tapering Course of Dexamethasone to Reduce the Duration of Ventilator Dependency in Very Low Birth Weight Infants," that was published in the July 1999 issue of Pediatrics (1999;104:2227). In the Intervention section on page 23, the authors wrote: "Infants randomized to dexamethasone were treated according to the following schedule: 0.25 mg/kg bid for 3 days, then 0.15 mg/kg bid for 3 days, then a 10% reduction in the dose every 3 days until the 0.1 mg/kg dose was reached on day 34." This sentence should read as follows: "Infants randomized to dexamethasone were treated according to the following schedule: 0.25 mg/kg bid for 3 days, then 0.15 mg/kg bid for 3 days, then a 10% reduction in the dose every 3 days until a dose of 0.1 mg was reached."
