We read with interest the recent hyperbilirubinemia guidelines by the American Academy of Pediatrics1 (AAP). We found them to be very informative, but we believe these guidelines can be adapted further to become more "user friendly." To follow the guidelines, the practicing pediatrician needs to use information from 1 algorithm, 3 nomograms, and 4 tables that are spread over several pages.
