To the Editor.

It was interesting to read the paper by Carr et al (Pediatrics. 1999;103:796-802). With continuing high morbidity and mortality from neonatal sepsis, there is little doubt that there is a need for developing new effective adjunctive strategies. However, I was a little surprised at their selective use of published literature regarding the use of intravenous immunoglobulins (IVIG).
