The article by Southall et al (Pediatrics. 1997;100:735-760) confirms the report of Rosen et al (Pediatrics. 1983;71:715-720). However, I have serious reservations about the design of this study.
It appears that the 39 cases selected for covert video surveillance
(CVS) came from two sources, two cases from the "district" and 37 from "outside the district," referred by physicians who knew the
