A CYSTIC FIBROSIS MUTATION ASSOCIATED WITH MILD LUNG DISEASE

The second most common mutation for cystic fibrosis in the Netherlands, A455E, is associated with preservation of pancreatic function, absence of diabetes mellitus, and mild to moderate obstructive lung disease suggesting that this group of patients has a better prognosis than the deltaF508 mutation.
