POSTNATAL MATERNAL SMOKING INCREASES THE PREVALENCE OF ASTHMA BUT NOT OF BRONCHIAL HYPERRESPONSIVENESS OR ATOPY IN THEIR CHILDREN

The authors concluded that postnatal maternal smoking increases the prevalence of asthma in the offspring without inducing BHR or enhancing sensitization to allergens.
