INDOOR ALLERGEN LEVELS IN DAY NURSERIES

The level of indoor allergens were lower in day nurseries than in most houses. Most samples contain allergen levels below threshold levels for sensitization. The risk of sensitization to indoor allergens in day nurseries for infants appears to be less than in their own homes. It also appears that the efficacy of avoidance measures such as the use of synthetic protective mattress covers and frequent washing of sheets and toys is effective.
