Parks and Snodgrass are disappointed that the Committee on Drugs did not "bite the bullet" regarding the fact that it is perhaps past time for the use of DPT cocktail.1 The reason that the Committee was unable to make such a definitive statement is the fact that there is a general lack of science demonstrating safety and efficacy of alternative medications. Parks and Snodgrass point out that rectal methohexital was a reasonable medication and cite the work of Manuli and Davies.2
