SCIENCE AND MATH SHOULD BE LEARNED, NOT TAUGHT

Science and math could be tremendously attractive to inner-city children. . . If teachers let children talk and work in groups rather than passively listen, if the teacher is a facilitator rather than the font of all knowledge, striving not for correct answers but for clues as to how the child thinks.
