The author states in his preface that this book was written for the student taking a course in pediatric allergy, and for the pediatrician and general practitioner, and that he has tried to strip away all excessive wordage and to use straightforward, simple language. He has succeeded admirably in his purpose. The book is short; it is less than a complete discussion of pediatric allergy, more than an outline, and it is an excellent example of how a clear-headed and common sense writer can boil down a complicated subject, without leaving out much that is essential.
