Extraordinary Urinary Frequency

ARNOLD H. COLODNY MD1

1 Division of Urology, Children's Hospital, 300 Longwood Avenue, Boston, Massachusetts 02115

To the Editor.—

I certainly enjoyed reading the article, "Extraordinary Urinary Frequency" by Drs Zoubek, Bloom, and Sedman1 from the University of Michigan, published in Pediatrics in June, 1990.

I agree with most of what their article states. However, there are a few points of disagreement I would like to call to the attention of the readers of Pediatrics.

Number one is their statement that anticholinergics are ineffective. I have found that anticholinergics frequently are effective in breaking the cycle and alleviating the symptom of extraordinary frequency.
