Authors, Beware! Abbreviations Are Often Misinterpreted and Should Not Be Used!

On page 925 of the May issue of Pediatrics (1990;85:925), the abbreviation used by the abstracter was incorrectly converted to acetylcholinesterase in the process of editing. Wherever "acetylcholinesterase" is used in this abstract, the words "angiotensin-converting enzyme" should be substituted.
