APGAR SCORE OUTMODED?

Neither the decision to resuscitate nor counselling of parents about survival is [in the current era] based on the [newborn] infant's Apgar score. Moreover, inaccuracies in its calculation reduce the usefulness of attempts to correlate it with more subtle outcomes. The Apgar score has served its purpose, and should now be pensioned off.
