In several articles the dangers of aspiration of makeshift pacifiers and pacifier and nipple parts have been cited. Ten deaths of aspiration of baby bottle nipples have been reported to the Consumer Product Safety Commission as of 1983. We have been warned of the danger of these real and makeshift nipples and pacifiers, but no mention has been made of the candy pacifiers that are sold in many convenience and grocery stores.
