FEWER AND OLDER MEDICAL SCHOOL APPLICANTS

Since 1974 applications to medical schools have dropped from 46,624 to 28,123 with the largest decline coming in the last four years. In addition, the average age of an entering medical students has risen. It was 24.38 last year, compared with 23.54 in 1978.
