To the Editor.
The article by Fosarelli and Schmitt (Pediatrics 1987;80:28-31) raises several points regarding the differences between those pediatricians in practice who are satisfied and those who are dissatisfied with the telephone call aspect of their profession. Several characteristics seemed to distinguish the two groups from one another, and the authors tried to analyze factors that might be responsible for these differences. The authors also offered suggestions regarding ways to educate parents to reduce the number of unnecessary calls or to make the calls at a better time of day.
