A Solution for the Foreign Body in Nose Problem

To the Editor.—

We would like to share with our colleagues a quick and effective method of extracting foreign bodies from the nose, a method that we devised when a 2-year-old boy came to the emergency room with a 1-cm bead lodged in his nose. The 1-cm diameter bead was visible 1.5 cm from the external nares and could not be extracted with a fine artery/alligator forceps in spite of multiple attempts by the pediatric/surgical residents.
